The Daily Poetry Stop
I am going back to my roots. The way I had originally envisioned this site. I will post random poems here. New, old, published and unpublished. I no longer feel that I need a motivational reason to write. It is just something I do.

Trick or Treat
© by Aubrey E. Drummond
He went to the bad man’s house The house all the other kids wouldn’t visit They said he was mean and awful smelling And always drove them from his lawn He went there anyway to prove that he was brave And it turned out the old bad man was not So bad after all, but rather very nice The bad man gave him lots of candy Since he was his only visitor and the young boy Thanked him twice as he exited out the door Later at home after eating his fill of freely given candy treats he stood in front of his bathroom mirror and became over wrought with fright his skin seemed to be turning a putrid moldy green his mouth began filling with blood and when he began to shriek his teeth soon joined the blood that was spitted in the sink His face deformed and shrunk and collapsed into itself And the young boy became a creature melted away The old man who witness this screamed with laughter for he was truly bad Mad with demon laughter he waited at the young boy’s door Holding the poor other souls he had caught and carried in his bag Trick or treat
