The Daily Poetry Stop
I am going back to my roots. The way I had originally envisioned this site. I will post random poems here. New, old, published and unpublished. I no longer feel that I need a motivational reason to write. It is just something I do.

Outside the Old Folk Home
© by Aubrey E. Drummond
Outside the old folks home he walked stiff of leg lack of balance as if suffering from liquid of the ear His arms outstretched To steady his lurch As he wobbled about The night air--icy cold Yet no smoke blew from his nose A child was there to watch him slither out And thought him very odd Yes, he was old as old Pale and thin of bone with bagged eyes that shone bright red and he went without a coat Yet no shiver rose from the old man’s body as he stumbled in the cold But what frightened the child most of all and sent him screaming into the night was when the old man fell and rose again with one arm swinging while the other lay unattached and remained wiggling on the ground .
