The year of sickness did not much bother him He had no love of people They sucked He was careful to wash And scrub Careful with what he Touched Careful on how he wore His mask Careful to keep the 6-foot spread Careful on who he Let in his home Careful to update The meds He did all this Not for his sake His life he didn’t give A shake He did this for the One and only one Whom he cared For the person whose heart He shared .
